Bike & hike to Fluebrig Diethelm and Turner from Ochsenboden.
Start of the hike at 7:00 in the morning. I brought my mountain bike along, but I just walked the bike. The main purpose of bringing the bike was to shorten the descent... I left the bike at the end of the forest road at approx. 1300 m elevation. Next, I followed the wrw marked trail, but only for about 100 m. Where the trail comes out of the forest, I hiked straight up the steep hill following a small creek. At elevation 1475 m, the creek turns more into a couloir which was difficult to ascend (T5- for a distance of 20-30 m). But, after exiting the couloir, I actually found an antler from a red deer right there in the creek!
Next, I continued up the steep grassy hillside in direction of P.1972. From there I continued to the summit of Turner, and after a short stop then to the summit of Diethelm. Meanwhile thin clouds had moved in so that there wasn't bright sunshine anymore. But the weather seemed quite stable. I enjoyed my lunch break at the summit of Diethelm for at least half an hour.
For the descent, I followed the marked trail in the south flank, and got back to my bike. The ride down to Ochsenboden was rather bumpy, but at least I didn't have to walk down all the way.
Main difficulties:
Couloir at elevation 1475 m (T5- for a distance of 20-30 m)
Ascent to Fluebrig Diethelm (T4, secured which chains)
The rest of the hike off the marked trails was in my opinion max. T3+
Equipment:
- Hiking sticks
- Ice axe
